Don't know if anyone else has heard about this

Disney plans to remake Yellow Submarine

I'm a bit terrified honestly...unless they can somehow manage to blow my skepticism out of the water like Harmonix has with Rockband...I dunno'.

Secretly, I'm hoping it's a hoax. If it's not...I sincerely HOPE Disney pays the proper respect and doesn't bastardize something I hold extremely near and dear (hey, Yellow Submarine is what brought me to The Beatles...).

I have my views on Disney, and that's why I'm a bit worried...

A new Rock Band trailer has been released and it includes previews of 8 classic songs that will be in the game. Enjoy! I especially liked how the "Within You Without You" looked.

It seems like it's going to take years and tons of talk until we find out what happens with the songs. I personally think they should just be handed over to the rightful owners...The Beatles.

So apparently, Paul gave an interview in the newest edition of Entertainment Weekly revealing some things about the Rock Band game being released 09/09/09. I'm so excited, I could burst. Here's an article about it. I have yet to get my paws on this Entertainment Weekly, but I am keen on doing so as soon as I can to read it.

Here's the quote from Paul posted in the above article:
"According to McCartney, "It will feature different periods of the band -- you get early days, Liverpool, then psychedelic, and on from there. It's very cool. And I like the idea that the game introduces kids to music, you know?" "

I'm not sure how much more in depth the EW article goes, but if anyone knows of its location online, that would be awesome! Or I'll just read it in the grocery aisle at the store, lol

And I don't know if it was posted about on here, but when Paul performed recently at Coachella in California, images from the Rock Band game were shown on a screen behind him as he performed. At certain points in the video on this page:

you can see the images I'm talking about. Looks so cool!

Was browsing the web today and came across a couple of Beatles related articles.  Funnily enough they're mostly from Tuesday, hence the 'better late than never.'

The first one is a report from George's Walk of Fame ceremony, only the author focuses a bit on Paul's appearance more than anything else.  It was very endearing and a bit funny because at one point the author gets to talk to Paul and he asks him what his favorite George song is.  :)

The second article I came across today talks about some details that have come out about the upcoming Rock Band release

And last, I came across this opinion piece that someone wrote about A Fantasy Beatles Compilation.  Basically it's about what least appreciated or played Beatles songs deserve more attention.  I liked seeing most of the songs on this person's list, and it made me realize just how many great songs they had and how rarely we hear some of them (or in my case most of them) on the radio.

Here's a nice article about George getting his star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. Some famous people also were quoted and talked about him. It's a really good article, I'll put the article under the cut but there's also pictures so if you want to see them then go to the source. Read hereCollapse )
